2010 Merit Badge Counselor Book

Merit badge registration is available 1-1/2 months prior to the clinic to ensure all Scouts have an opportunity to register for clinics.  All merit badge clinics require pre-registration.  Walk-ins are not allowed. This is to ensure that all boys have the necessary materials and receive the best clinic instruction possible.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

American Labor
11/6/2010Here's an opportunity for Boy Scouts to earn the American Labor Merit Badge. This merit badge clinic is hosted by Local Union 2150, IBEW International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, N56 W13777 Silver Spring Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI. (Intersection of Williams & Silver Spring Dr.) Cost is $6 per Scout. Registration available early October.
Coin Collecting4/11/2011___ of 100 registered
Have your Scouts find out about this interesting lifetime hobby. There are several requirements that need to be completed prior to the clinic. This clinic is conducted by the Milwaukee Numismatic Society. Cost is $6 per Scout. Registration available early March.

Electricity
12/4/2010Clinic is run in partnership with We Energies to help Boy Scouts earn their Electricity Merit Badge.  This clinic will be primarily on testing completed requirements. Scouts must bring completed projects to the clinic for testing and be prepared for a paper test.  There will be no review on the day of the clinic.  Prior to the clinic, Scouts must review a videotape on electricity, which is available throught the Scout Service Center.  Cost is $6 per Scout.  The clinic will take place at We Energies. Registration available mid-October.

This half-day program will test a Scout's knowledge on the First Aid Merit Badge requirements.  Clinic will take place at the Scout Service Center, 330 South 84 Street.  Note: This clinic is not for newer Scouters. It runs from 8:00 a.m. - Noon. Cost is $6 per Scout. Registration available in September.

Each clinic will consist of a lecture followed by breakout groups for a hands-on experience.  This clinic is being taught by Firefighters.

 

Law

This merit badge is not for brand new Scouts. The clinic will fulfill all requirements for the Law Badge. Several notable speakers from the legal community and law enforcement community will present portions of the clinic, including a moot court demonstration. Scouts are required to complete, on the day of the clinic, a worksheet will be provided at check-in. Lunch and snacks will be provided at no additional cost. This will take place at the Milwaukee Bar Association, 424 E. Wells St., beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. Cost is $6 per Scout. Registration available in late February.
Motor Boating

Must have Boating Safety DNR license to receive merit badge. (The DNR Safe Boating class is not included in this merit badge class. The Boating Safety Class is available at Cudahy High School, 4950 S. Lake Drive in Cudahy. Please contact the Cudahy Recreation Department at 2915 E. Ramsey Avenue to sign up for the DNR Safe Boating class.) Space is limited so please register early! Registration available in April.

Railroading

Earn the Railroading Merit Badge and learn about the operations of real railroading!   The railroading Merit Badge book MUST be purchased and read prior to the clinic. Requirement #8a must be completed in advance and the required items brought to the clinic. NOTE: You must do 2 of 7 items. Blue Merit Badge Card MUST be completed, and signed by your Scoutmaster and brought to the clinic. Registration is $6.00 per Scout. Clinic runs 8:00 a.m. - Noon. Registration available late August.
Small Boat SailingJune 6, 13, 20, 2011   ___ of 25
This program is offered to allow each participant to learn how to sail with classroom and on the water training at the William Russell Sea Base. No prior sailing experience is required. Typically there are 2 classroom sessions and the final date is the sailing session. Registration available in early May.
Stamp Collecting

This merit badge clinic will take place from 9:30 a.m. - Noon at the PieperPower Learning Center, 330 South 84 Street (Scout Service Center). Have your Scouts learn about an interesting lifetime hobby. To complete the Stamp Collecting Merit Badge, the following requirements need to be completed prior to attending the clinic: Requirement #1 - Read the Stamp Collecting Merit Badge Book. You will be taught requirements 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 8. You will be quizzed on each requirement during the clinic. #2 - Each Scout must complete requirement #7F and one of the requirements from #8. #3 - Bring only the stamps required for the Merit Badge. Leave the rest of your collection at home. Scouts will complete the requirements for the Merit Badge. Cost is $6 per Scout. Registration available in late October.
