Please have a representative contact Joel Potega bbduckjsp@aol.com or Jenny Lowell bayviewgrad76@yahoo.com about Camp Promotions and information.
Klondike Derby We have had a lot of great stuff happening. The 2010 Klondike Derby at IMR was an absolute success. Congratulations to Joel Potega the Klondike Chair, and all of the Troops and Packs that participated. We had over 200 Youth and Adults enjoy a weekend of Scouting skills and education. Great job to Troop 208 for taking home the coveted Klondike Trophy, you did an outstanding job and have proven to be masters of winter skills. Cub Klondike

Southshore had a great Cub Scout Klondike! We had over 100 youth and adults in attendance and had a lot of fun in the snow. Thanks to all that attended and helped run the event. Special thanks to Larry Gordon for his outstanding leadership in chairing the event as well as Curtis Moldenauer, Richard Binkowski, and all of the 228 Scouts that made it a success. Family Friends of Scouting Family Friends of Scouting is in full swing. Our fearless leader, (Family FOS Chair Nadine Binkowski @ 414-281-3521) is compiling all of the dates for presentations and organizing presenters for all of our various units. Please do not wait until the last minute to schedule your presentation. It is as easy as designating a date between now and March 15 that you would like to have your presentation and letting Nadine know when that date is. Please call her as soon as possible to get your date scheduled. If you have not had a presentation in the past I would like to ask you to please have one this year. We need to allow everyone the opportunity to support Scouting. It takes $165.00 to support one Scout for one year. Having that said, if we all do what we can, big or small, we will be able to meet and surpass our goal and provide Scouting for a long time to come. I support Southshore, and I ask that you support Southshore as well. Needs Southshore has a great District volunteer staff and outstanding Cubmasters, Den leaders, Scoutmasters, and Committee Members. However, we need to fill some positions at our District level. Currently, we are in need of: Family FOS Presenters Camp Promotions Chair Finance Chair Unit Commissioners These positions are paramount to the success of our District. Are you willing to take on a leadership role? Do you have skills that can benefit Southshore? We truly need your help and guidance so that Scouting’s next 100 years is as great as its first 100 years. Many of the positions listed above do not have the time commitment that you may expect. However, all of the above positions directly influence how we proceed as a District. I know that there are leaders out there waiting for the opportunity to get involved in something bigger than themselves. Maybe that’s you, maybe that’s someone you know. All I ask is that if it is you or someone you know please contact me or have them contact me and get involved. We need you to make a difference. Questions?
