Packs… Are You Signed Up for Summer Camp at IMR?

Summer camp should be an important part of your yearly program. It's a proven fact that boys who go to summer camp stay in Scouting longer than boys who don't. It's part of the Scouting experience. The Layden Mining Company mine now has "panning for gold." There are five (5) options… something for everyone. Do not miss out on your opportunity to have the greatest time you and your son will ever have!

                       Three-Day Day Camp (no overnights)

                       Overnight Camp (3 nights)

NEW! Iron Horse District Summer Camp Weekend!
The Iron Horse District is showing its pride by hosting this exciting and adventurous weekend (July 25-26) which is sure to provide memories that will last a lifetime. Make friends with Scouts from other packs in your district while swimming, fishing, playing games and taking a trip through the LS Gratz Landship, Layden Family Mining Company Mine and the James A. Merry Castle.

Everyone should bring a clean white t-shirt for creating a keepsake. Pictures will be taken of your den or pack to show off your pride. Photos will be shown in the fall issue of the Scouters' Compass. This weekend is also a fun and creative way to earn your Summertime Pack Award.

Scout’s Honor Unit
S
tarting in 2008 and continuing through 2010, we will honor those units that go above and beyond the call of duty for the young people that they serve. These special units will be designated as Scout's Honor Units and will lead the way for the rest of the council. This special recognition will not come easy, but will bring worthy praise and tools to continue to build and strengthen the unit. In order for Scouting to have the greatest impact on a young person's life, we must retain Scouts in our programs as long as possible. Scout's Honor Units will stand on the foundation of Centennial Quality programming and strive to fulfill the promises of fun and adventure.

Just as a Scout's Honor is sacred, so to is your commitment to provide the best programming possible, and we hope to recognize your unit as a Scout's Honor Unit. For more information and your unit's progress, please contact Alex Behrend, (414) 443-2853 or abehrend@mccbsa.org.
